Topic: Trying to install EveMon on Windows 7 PC getting a .net 2.0 installation error

I've encountered this before first off with a video editing software...

Now when I try to install EveMon on my PC which is windows 7 with .net framework 3.5 installed I get an error which says I need to install .net 2.0 I say yes then it errors on the install with code 4122.

I tried reinstalling 3.5 that didn't work and windows 7 will not allow you to install the 2.0 framework since it is a base in os from what research I could find. I've done several searches and nothing which can help me with this issue has even been found on google or this forum. I install and run evemon in windows xp mode, however, I'd like to have it available in game if at all possible and I don't know if a virtual machine will let me access the localhost address from the evemon server.

if anyone could help me with this I'd greatly appreciate it.

Can't imagine why that would happen, the two main contributors at the moment both develop on Windows 7 x64 - I use the installer most days to update my main EVEMon client to the latest, installed fine from scratch on rebuilt laptop 4 weeks ago.

You could always download the snapshot Zip file and extract that to C:\Program Files\EVEMon.

I'll try that and see if it works... yeah I think it's something with my machine just wish I could figure out what. Frustrating to say the least not being able to install anything which uses .net 2.0.

Any ideas?  It used to run about 2 updates ago, but not since then.

Good necro. Wonder where you've digged up this thread.
Try reinstalling EVEMon. Make sure it's not running in background, when you do it.
