Cool. Shame it's not worth a flight cross-country, hotel charges, and the registration fee. Cute perk, though.

If anyone manages to get an extra code, I wouldn't mind one. :)

yeah. I saw that and kinda thought the same thing. Cryptic Studios, and now Paragon Studios, has done lots of these special events... but as far as I can determine, none have been on the east coast.

Be nice if they had a Hero-Con in Georgia or Florida and gave all of the east coast players a financially and travel-time viable chance to get perks like this.

Sometimes after these cons there are contests to give away costume codes. As far as having an event on the east coast, it doesn't make much sense financially. I imagine if a group of players and gaming sites got together to host a fan event somewhere, NC/Paragon would pony up some goodies, but hosting conventions is a good way to lose money unless you are really sure of having enough people willing to pay to participate.

I think one way to do it would be a series of barn-storming events, like Nintendo's Fusion Tour. Hook up with a band, something like Superchick, Pillar, or Thousand Foot Krutch, ya know, bands that have music parents don't mind their kids listening to. Then, at each tour stop, set-up kiosks for people to try out the game. It would get more people than just a simple con alone.
