Question about Missile ranges
« on: November 12, 2005, 10:39:09 pm »
So reading through the information provided on the various websites and Item databases I'm getting the impression that something doest add up.

Missile range of a missile is Max Velocity x Max Flight Time

So using that...

Sad, that I have to start a Trial account myself to answer my own questions. but here's some info for those reading the forums.

Yes eve-online item database is inaccurate.

Rocket: 2 sec x 2,250 m/sec = 4,500 m range
Light: 5 sec x 3,750 m/sec = 18,750m range
Heavy: 10 sec x 3,750 m/sec = 37,500m range
Cruise: 20 sec x 3,750 m/sec = 75,000m range
Torpedo: 30 sec x 1,250 m/sec = 37,500m range

Question 2) 3750 x 1.5 x 1.5 = 8437.5m/sec

Question 3) yes, increasing velocity 50% increases range 50%

Question 4) Forumula i found today in someone's BIO for stacking
stacked_value = value_being_stacked ^ ( 1 /  ( #_of_modifiers_to_single_attribute ^ 0.25) )
57,600 x  1.60 x 1.25 x 1.50 x 1.15^A x 1.15^B = total_range, where A = 1 / 2^0.25, B = 1 / 6^0.25
57,600 x 1.6 x 1.25 x 1.5 x 1.20285 x 1.29756 = 269,701m

so what was +15% for one tracking computer
1) +15.000%
2) +20.285%
3) +23.657%
4) +26.146%
5) +28.120%
6) +29.756%

NOt sure about all the maths stuff, but the info given on the Item DB will be for the baseline info  - no skills.

I know for a fact that with my missile skills, and my Arblest launcher on my Enyo, my light missiles will travel up to 27km.  It is the veolcity of the missile X flight time, divided by 1000 - to give range in KM.

This is found when you check the stats of the missiles loaded into your launcher, not missiles in your hanger.
